NEW ZEALAND'S COOLEST LITTLE FESTIVAL:
SHOWCASING WOMEN IN OUR AWESOME WHANGANUI TOWN
Join in the festival fun in Whanganui
Every February and March
The Women's Network is proud to bring this event to Whanganui every year. 2019 is our tenth festival! It's a true celebration of all that's wonderful about women in our community. La Fiesta also showcases marvelous men who champion women too. The festival programme covers everything from art, music and dance, to workshops, film screenings, meditation, food demo's, yoga, and a whole heap of fun. It's a great way to build confidence, get motivated, and meet awesome new people.

THE JOURNEY
There is something for everyone during La Fiesta. The festival programme features all sorts of events and activities over nearly four weeks. Check out our festival programme to find out what's on and when.
The festival is a fantastic opportunity to meet new people, to be inspired, and experience the excitement of change.
International Women's Day [IWD] is the inspiration for our festival. All around the world IWD is celebrated on 8 March. It's been celebrated since 1911, and is a public holiday in almost 30 countries around the world...in some it's a women-only holiday. The 2019 theme  is #BalanceforBetter

Get Involved!
If you have an idea for a festival event, want to run one,  or would like to be involved as a sponsor, holler us.
We'd love to hear from you! So, if you have an idea for an activity or event you would like to see in future festivals, or you're keen to present or run one, then get in touch. We have had people from around the country participate as presenters. And, folk travel from around the globe to join in the fun too!
La Fiesta runs on a budget of generosity. If you would like to sponsor the festival, get in touch! We have two principal sponsors, the Whanganui District Council and Dewhirst Law. Each year a number of local businesses, community groups, and media sponsors jump on board to support La Fiesta. The festival has exposure to tens of thousands of people so it's a great way to get your brand out there and support a unique-in-New Zealand event.
